Understanding that our customers need a full range of services, since 1998 our company has become deeply involved in stevedoring and forwarding services through direct contracts with major port operators and cargo suppliers/exporters, totalling over 1 million tons of grain cargoes operated till November 1999.

In November 1999, when we have completed the installation of our first loading equipment in Constantza port berth no 36/37, we became Port Operators.
The facility at berth no 36/37 is composed of a flat warehouse with a capacity of about 30,000 metric tons, a ship loader, a complete conveyor belts system feeding the ship loader through an elevator equipped with an electronic system which weighs and records the goods during loading transit, electronic weighing platforms for railcars, automatic unloading platforms for railcars and electronic weighing platforms for trucks.

At the beginning of 2000 we have contracted the berths no 102 and 103, in Constantza South - Agigea, where we have managed within a short time to build up our own grain terminal with a capacity of over 85,000 metric tons worth of grains. The terminal is composed of four flat warehouses, a complete conveyor belts loading installation equipped with automatic weighing and recording of goods, cranes of 30 metric tons lifting capacity, electronic weighing platforms for railcars, automatic unloading platforms for railcars and electronic weighing platforms for trucks.

The operations within the stevedoring facilities are also assisted by three floating cranes of 20 metric tons lifting capacity each and several wheeled front loaders of various sizes.

After winning the auction organized by the Constantza Port Administration as part of its strategy to improve the attractiveness of Constantza port, since last year in January we are close to finalizing the construction of a state of the art grain silo of about 200 thousand tons capacity at berths 30, 31, 32 and 33. The silo brings the Constantza port operations of grains to a new standard.

The terminal is capable to simultaneously load 2 vessels and discharge one vessel or to load one vessel and discharge 2. The loading rates are about 1300mts per hour for each vessel. Compared to the usual rates, this will result in important savings on the cost of the freight for cargo transport by vessels, making Constantza port a route of choice for more and more trades.

The barges will be loaded / discharged in a matter of hours - rather than days, making them quickly available for their next employments. The new terminal allows significantly faster loading and discharging of trucks and rail wagons into storage through the conveyor belt system. The loading / discharging rates for trucks are about 2 x 350mts per hour and for railcars about 2 x 1000mts per hour. We already commenced the terminal operations with the first 10 cells (about 60 percent of capacity) and by the end of the year we expect to run the terminal at its full capacity.

We are also in the process of obtaining the necessary authorizations to build an extension of the silo, providing a modern flat storage space for upto about 30000mt of grain meal, at berth no. 30-31. Among our facilities we also mention our own storage barges, three of 7000 cbm capacity, one of 4500 cbm, one of 3000 cbm and one of l000 cbm, plus other four units of 3000 cbm rented from close partners.

We also run together with close partners long-term contracts for the transport of various goods by barges on the Danube river and Black Sea - Danube channel. Our Stevedoring & Forwarding department, with its experienced, professional staff assures high quality services at competitive rates. Some of the services that our stevedoring & forwarding team is able to offer:

  • loading and discharging of all types of bulk cargoes in direct and/or indirect transshipment from trucks/railcars and/or barges to the vessel and vice versa
  • forwarding from the inland processing plants to the port
  • weighing through own electronic weighing platforms
  • draft survey and fumigation through affiliated company
  • road and rail transportation from inland to the port and vice-versa through contracts with specialized transport companies
  • river transportation and forwarding
  • daily statements of cargo arrivals, shipments effected and stock balance to each customer
